Hardware and game library
PS5 arrived in November 2020. Original disc and Digital Edition models were followed by a smaller design. The original Digital Edition cannot gain disc support from the later detachable drive. Verify the CFI model and Sony drive compatibility before buying an accessory.
Choosing the right model
The 30th Anniversary Digital Edition and anniversary Pro are different products, even though both use grey styling. Check the console model, drive inclusion and stand separately. For used disc hardware, request a disc installation and eject demonstration rather than only a dashboard photograph.

The original Digital Edition lacks the later detachable-drive expansion path. For a used GTA disc collection, the presence of a compatible, working drive is a functional requirement. A seller’s photograph of a drive accessory beside a console does not prove that the two revisions can be paired.
Model and package identifiers in manufacturer documentation
A hardware model number is different from a retailer SKU, barcode or serial number. These are the codes explicitly named in the linked manufacturer documents. The region identifies the documentation archive; it does not establish exclusive sale in that country.
Match the full label on the console and its box. A shared family number alone does not authenticate a special-edition shell, identify every bundle accessory or establish current repair eligibility.
