How to play Enshrouded on PS5 and PS5 Pro: buy, install, modes and co-op

In brief: Enshrouded came to PS5 with its 1.0 launch on 15 October 2026. Buy Standard ($39.99 / Rs 3,330) or the Deluxe Edition ($49.99 / Rs 4,162) on PlayStation Store, install it, pick 60 fps Performance or 30 fps Quality mode (PS5 Pro gets a 60 fps PSSR 2.0 mode), and you need PlayStation Plus to play co-op online with up to 8 players. There is no crossplay with PC yet.

Before you start

• It is PS5 only on PlayStation. There is no PS4 version. The game runs on the standard PS5, PS5 Digital Edition and PS5 Pro.

• Free space. PlayStation Store did not show a download size during our check, so it is unconfirmed. The PC version needs 60 GB, so keep at least 60–70 GB free on your console to be safe. If your internal storage is full, see our PS5 M.2 SSD install guide.

• Online play needs PlayStation Plus. Solo play works without it. Co-op over the internet on PS5 needs any PlayStation Plus tier for every player.

• Your PC friends cannot join yet. Keen Games says Enshrouded “will not be cross-platform at launch”. It is working on crossplay but has no estimate.

Step 1 — Buy the right edition on PlayStation Store

1. On your PS5, open PlayStation Store and search for Enshrouded. Check that the product is from Keen Games.

2. Choose Standard Edition or Deluxe Edition. Deluxe adds three class outfit packs, three thrones and banners, a digital artbook and a high-resolution map. None of these change gameplay.

3. Check the price shown before you pay. The 10% launch discount ends on 29 October 2026 (8:30 p.m. IST in the US store, 9:30 p.m. IST in the UK, EU and India stores), so after that you will see the full list price.

4. Confirm the purchase with your PlayStation Network wallet or card.

You can also buy it from the PlayStation Store website or the PlayStation App on your phone, and the download will start on your console if it is set to download automatically.

Step 2 — Download and install

1. After buying, select Download. The download appears under Downloads/Uploads in the control centre.

2. If you have an M.2 SSD or USB extended storage, you can choose where the game installs in Settings › Storage › Installation Location. PS5 games must be played from internal storage or an M.2 SSD, not from USB.

3. Let the download finish before you start, and install any update the game offers on first launch.

Step 3 — Pick a graphics mode

Keen Games lists these modes for 1.0 on PlayStation:

Most players should use Performance on a standard PS5, because combat feels much better at 60 fps. Switch to Quality when you spend a long session building. HDR is supported. If your TV supports it, also check the HDR settings on the PS5 itself. The DualSense controller has full haptic feedback and adaptive-trigger support. Step 4 — Play co-op with friends

1. Make sure every player has an active PlayStation Plus membership. It is needed for online multiplayer on PS5.

2. The host starts or loads a world. Up to 8 players can share one world on PS5, compared with 16 on PC.

3. Friends join through the game’s multiplayer options or a PS5 game invite from the host. Characters belong to the player, so you can take your character into other people’s worlds.

4. Remember that only PS5 players can join each other. PC players on Steam cannot see or join PS5 worlds yet.

Building, chests and the Flame Altar progress stay with the host’s world. If your group plans to play for months, pick one person to host who plays often, so that the world progresses together.

Tips for a smooth first session

• Start fresh. 1.0 reworked the early game with new pacing, rewards and recipe unlocks, so the first hours are easier to learn than they were in Early Access.

• Rescue survivors early. The craftspeople you bring back to your base unlock better crafting, and they are the main way to improve your gear.

• Use Airborne Architect. 1.0 lets you fly around your base while building. Set it up before big builds.

• No cheats. There are no official cheat codes on PS5. Use the world settings and co-op if you want an easier run.

For players in India

On PlayStation Store India, Enshrouded Standard is Rs 3,330 and the Deluxe Edition is Rs 4,162 (Rs 2,997 and Rs 3,745 during the launch sale, which ends at 9:30 p.m. IST on 29 October 2026). That is much more than Steam India’s ₹1,799, so if you play on both PC and PS5, compare first. Remember that the two versions cannot play together yet. PlayStation Plus is needed for online co-op in India too. Buy with an Indian PSN account, and avoid sellers offering cheap “offline” or shared accounts, because those can be banned.
