What Mafia: The Old Country is
Mafia: The Old Country is the fifth main Mafia game, developed by Hangar 13 (with support from Italy’s Stormind Games) and published by 2K. You play Enzo Favara, a former child labourer in Sicily’s sulfur mines who is taken in by Don Bernardo Torrisi and tries to become a man of honour. 2K calls it “a linear, narrative-driven game”: a cinematic third-person crime drama with knife duels, period guns, stealth, horses and early motorcars, rather than an open-world sandbox.
Built in Unreal Engine 5, it is the earliest story in the series and a prequel to the Mafia Trilogy. The paid Man of Honor expansion brings in Ennio Salieri, the Don of the first game. If you prefer the open-world crime of GTA V or the period storytelling of Red Dead Redemption 2, expect something shorter and more focused. The free Free Ride mode lets you roam the Valle Dorata after the story.
