Quick route

First, read included items, then follow the steps below in order. If the result differs from what is described, use the symptom-specific troubleshooting before repeating a purchase, deleting data or starting another download.

This German notice confirms that additional content was added to the account. It does not by itself establish that every required file is installed. In Steam, open Library, right-click the base game, select Properties, then DLC to check owned content and installation status.

Identify what your purchase includes

DLC can be a downloadable expansion, an in-game unlock, currency, a soundtrack or an upgrade. It does not always create a separate game icon. Read the receipt’s included-items list before treating a missing tile as a fault.

Check the base-game requirement, platform, edition and region. DLC for one generation or regional release should not be assumed to work with a different one.

PlayStation

  1. Use the owning account and open the base game in Game Library.

  2. Inspect its Add-Ons section and download the purchased item when a download is offered.

  3. Check the queue and restart the game after completion. If the purchase is an in-game benefit, follow the publisher’s access instructions instead of looking for a separate application.

Xbox

  1. Open the game’s management screen from My games & apps.

  2. Review its installation items, select the owned add-ons you need and save the changes.

  3. Wait for the queue to finish, then fully quit and reopen the game rather than relying on a suspended session.

Nintendo

  1. Check the purchasing user’s Virtual Game Cards or the applicable eShop download route for the content.

  2. Select the correct game or DLC and follow the download prompts. Membership-specific content may be found in the Nintendo Switch Online area instead.

  3. Open the base game after download and check its menu or publisher instructions for the new content.

Troubleshoot by entitlement type

  • Currency: inspect the correct in-game account and the publisher’s delivery rules; do not expect a software install.

  • Season pass: check which released items the pass includes and whether individual packs need downloading.

  • Upgrade pack: confirm access to the required base game and supported hardware.

  • Soundtrack or art book: check the product’s extra-content instructions; it may not be reached from the main game menu.

Purchased, installed and unlocked are three checks

First, the receipt’s exact item. Then determine whether it has downloadable files. Finally, check how the publisher exposes it inside the game. A completed store purchase does not mean every expansion has installed, and an installed pack may require a story milestone or a particular menu to access.

Do not expect currency, a skin entitlement or a soundtrack to behave like a standalone game. Read the included-content description before searching for a second launcher tile.

A season pass or deluxe bundle appears incomplete

Compare the missing item against the actual included-items list and release status. Marketing artwork can show content that is sold separately or not yet released. Check whether the pass requires you to select individual released packs for installation.

If the game is running in a suspended session, close it normally and relaunch after the download completes. Confirm the same base-game generation and account. For region-dependent content, compare the base game and add-on listings rather than assuming identical titles mean compatibility.

The store asks you to buy an item already on the receipt

Capture the product name and account discrepancy privately, then contact the relevant store. Do not purchase twice to force access. If the store confirms the entitlement but the game does not deliver it, move the case to the publisher with that confirmation.

Keep a concise record: base game and edition, add-on name, purchasing account, installation status, and where you expected to find the content. This lets support distinguish a missing entitlement from an in-game access requirement.

Before paying again

Match the store confirmation to the owning account and exact game version. If the item still asks for payment, capture that discrepancy for platform support. A bundle’s cover image is less useful evidence than its actual item list and order reference.
