Hardware and game library

OLED improves the handheld screen and tabletop stand while retaining the Switch software family. Its dock includes Ethernet. It is not a Switch 2 and does not gain Switch 2-exclusive software support. The display change should not be confused with a universal increase in game frame rates.

Choosing the right model

Inspect the screen and Joy-Con operation, then check the specific edition’s dock and controllers. A themed tablet paired with ordinary controllers is not the same as the full original bundle. For used examples, verify what is included and whether any advertised game code is unused.

OLED changes display and dock features

OLED improves the handheld display and stand while retaining the original Switch generation’s TV-output limit. It is not a 4K console upgrade. The LAN port is in the OLED dock; a loose handheld listing does not imply that this dock is included.

Supporting documentation

Model and package identifiers in manufacturer documentation

A hardware model number is different from a retailer SKU, barcode or serial number. These are the codes explicitly named in the linked manufacturer documents. The region identifies the documentation archive; it does not establish exclusive sale in that country.

Browse the regional source archive

Match the full label on the console and its box. A shared family number alone does not authenticate a special-edition shell, identify every bundle accessory or establish current repair eligibility.

GTA editions to check for this hardware

These links match the release-platform labels in our GTA catalogue. Open the game guide for its edition and sources. This is not a complete backwards-compatibility list or a guarantee of current store availability.
