Hardware and game library
Switch Lite is designed for handheld play. It does not dock for TV output and its controls are built in. Check the handheld-mode icon and controller requirements for each game. Accessories may be needed for games relying on features of detachable Joy-Con.
Choosing the right model
Test every button and stick because a faulty built-in control cannot simply be swapped like a Joy-Con. Inspect the USB-C port and screen. Hyrule and Pokémon editions are cosmetic releases of Lite hardware, not more powerful models. Check artwork and package contents against the specific regional release.

The integrated controls and handheld-only design distinguish Lite from the standard dockable Switch. A USB-C connector does not mean it can use a dock to output video. Check each game’s supported play modes and any separate-controller requirements before choosing a themed Lite bundle.
Model and package identifiers in manufacturer documentation
A hardware model number is different from a retailer SKU, barcode or serial number. These are the codes explicitly named in the linked manufacturer documents. The region identifies the documentation archive; it does not establish exclusive sale in that country.
Match the full label on the console and its box. A shared family number alone does not authenticate a special-edition shell, identify every bundle accessory or establish current repair eligibility.
