How to pre-order and pre-load Stellar Blade on Switch 2 (unlock time worldwide)

In brief: Stellar Blade Complete Edition is on pre-order for Nintendo Switch 2 at $59.99 / £54.99 / €59.99, digital or physical. It unlocks worldwide at the same moment: 5 November 2026, 15:00 UTC (7:00 a.m. PST, 10:00 a.m. EST, 15:00 GMT, 8:30 p.m. IST; midnight 6 November in Japan and Korea). Pre-order on the eShop, let your console pre-load, and the game starts as soon as the countdown ends. The physical cartridge holds the full game, with no game-key card.

Before you start

• Switch 2 only. On Nintendo hardware the game is sold only for Nintendo Switch 2. It does not run on the original Switch, Switch OLED or Switch Lite.

• One edition. Nintendo sells only the Complete Edition. It already includes the NieR:Automata and GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE DLC and the Complete Edition bonus items, so there is no DLC to buy.

• Storage. Nintendo’s store page did not list a download size during our check, so the digital size is unconfirmed. The PC version needs 75 GB, so clear plenty of space or add a microSD Express card. Our Switch 2 microSD Express guide explains which cards work.

• No online subscription needed. It is single-player. Nintendo Switch Online is only needed for cloud save backups.

• Age rating. ESRB M, PEGI 18. Parental controls on the console may block the purchase or launch on a child’s account.

Step 1 — Pre-order on your Switch 2

1. From the HOME Menu, open Nintendo eShop and sign in with the Nintendo Account you play on.

2. Search for Stellar Blade and open Stellar Blade Complete Edition. Check that the platform shows Nintendo Switch 2 and the publisher is SHIFT UP.

3. Select Pre-purchase and confirm the price for your region.

4. Choose a payment method. If you use funds from your eShop balance, make sure the balance covers the full price before the payment date.

Step 1 (alternative) — Pre-order on the website

You can also pre-order on the Nintendo website (for example Nintendo US or Nintendo UK) while signed in to the same Nintendo Account. The console downloads the game automatically if it is connected to the internet and set to download in sleep mode.

Step 2 — Payment and pre-load

Nintendo of America explains that for a digital pre-purchase, payment is taken no sooner than seven days before release, and the game is pre-loaded to your console at about that time. For Stellar Blade that window opens on about 29 October 2026. Until the payment is processed you can cancel the pre-order from your Nintendo Account. After payment, normal eShop rules apply, and digital purchases are generally not refundable.

• Keep the console connected to Wi-Fi and in sleep mode so the pre-load can finish.

• Check progress on the game’s icon on the HOME Menu. A finished pre-load shows a countdown or release date instead of a download bar.

Step 3 — Unlock day

SHIFT UP describes this as a simultaneous worldwide release at 00:00 KST/JST on 6 November, which is 15:00 UTC on 5 November. US daylight saving time ends on 1 November, so that is 7:00 a.m. PST and 10:00 a.m. EST. In the UK it is 15:00 GMT, and in central Europe it is 16:00 CET. In India it is 8:30 p.m. IST. If your eShop countdown shows a different time for your region, trust the countdown.

1. Just before unlock, make sure the console is online and the system software is up to date.

2. When the countdown ends, open the game. If a day-one update is offered, install it first (whether there is one is unconfirmed).

3. The pre-order bonus items and Complete Edition extras are claimed in game. Nintendo notes that some included content becomes available only after you progress through the main story.

Pre-ordering the physical edition instead

The physical Switch 2 release has the entire game on the cartridge. SHIFT UP says there is no game-key card and no extra download is needed to play. That makes it a good choice if your storage is small or if you want to resell or lend the game. Suggested prices match digital: $59.99, £54.99 and €59.99. Retailers set their own prices and pre-order terms, so check the store’s cancellation policy. A Limited Edition SteelBook with new key art is sold by participating retailers and Panax in limited quantities. Its price is unconfirmed.

Already playing on PS5 or PC?

You do not need the Switch 2 version to get the new content. The free Bayonetta collaboration (four outfits for EVE) unlocks on PS5 and PC at the same moment, 5 November 2026 at 15:00 UTC. There is no announced cross-save between Switch 2 and PS5 or PC, so a Switch 2 copy starts a new save (unconfirmed until launch). PS5 prices are $69.99 Standard and $89.99 Complete. On Steam they are $59.99 and $79.99.

For players in India

Nintendo does not run an official eShop in India, so there is no official rupee price. Players in India usually buy through a Nintendo Account set to another region, and they pay that region’s price in its currency, such as $59.99 in the US eShop. Physical cartridges sold by Indian retailers are imports at their own prices, which we have not verified (unconfirmed). The unlock time is 8:30 p.m. IST on Thursday 5 November 2026. If you also play on PS5, PlayStation Store India lists the game at Rs 4,999 (Standard) and Rs 6,899 (Complete). Steam India lists ₹4,799 and ₹6,399.
