Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5: What’s New, Prices Worldwide and Which Edition to Buy

In brief (checked 27–28 October 2026): Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.5 — the free Edgerunners 2 Update — went live on 22 October 2026 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The game is #8 on Steam India’s top sellers today, and console sales cut the Standard Edition to ₹1,199 on PlayStation Store India and ₹1,047 on Xbox India until 5 November. Steam India is back at its ₹2,999 list price. There are no official cheat codes, so this guide does not list any.

Steam lists the Cyberpunk 2077 at $59.99 in the US, £49.99 in the UK and €59.99 in the EU (₹2,999 in India). Why Cyberpunk 2077 is trending again in October 2026

Three things landed in the same week. “Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2” premiered on Netflix on 20 October 2026, CD PROJEKT RED shipped the free Edgerunners 2 Update (2.5) on 22 October, and the stores ran deep discounts. GamesRadar reported on 26 October that the game hit a SteamDB concurrent peak of 187,215 players — its highest since October 2023, when Phantom Liberty launched. On 27 October the game sat at #8 on Steam India’s top-selling chart, with the Phantom Liberty expansion at #16.

We picked Cyberpunk 2077 for the NextPlayIntel Trending section because the higher-ranked games on today’s India chart were either already covered in our catalogue or were not open-world action titles. Google Trends India’s daily feed showed no gaming terms today (cricket dominated), so we leaned on store charts and official announcements instead.

What update 2.5 (Edgerunners 2 Update) adds

The full feature list comes from CD PROJEKT RED’s own post on Xbox Wire and the official Cyberpunk 2077 update page. The update is free for anyone who owns the base game.

CD PROJEKT RED calls dual wielding one of the biggest combat additions since update 2.0 brought throwing knives. In practice, if you shelved the game after the main story, the new gig, mods panel and Glamdocs are the reasons to reinstall. Plan for a large download before you jump back in.

Edition guide: Standard vs Phantom Liberty vs Ultimate

Cyberpunk 2077 is sold three ways on Indian storefronts. The Standard Edition is the base game with every free update, including 2.5. Phantom Liberty is a paid spy-thriller expansion set in a new district, Dogtown. The Ultimate Edition bundles both. Phantom Liberty needs a PS5, an Xbox Series X|S or a PC — it is not sold for PS4 or Xbox One.

Prices worldwide: US, UK, EU and India

Official digital prices for Cyberpunk 2077, US dollars first. USD, GBP and EUR checked 28 October 2026 on Steam (cc=us, gb, de) and PlayStation Store (en-us, en-gb, de-de); INR checked 27–28 October 2026 on Steam India, PlayStation Store India and Xbox Store India. Xbox/Microsoft Store UK and EU prices were not verified. The EU column uses the German store as the euro reference. “Unconfirmed” means the official store did not show a price we could verify; we never estimate or convert. Buy from the store that matches your account region, and confirm the total at checkout.

For players in India: Cyberpunk 2077 INR prices (27 October 2026)

We checked every price below on the official Indian storefronts on 27 October 2026. PlayStation Store India writes prices as “Rs”; we show ₹ throughout. The console sale prices end on 5 November 2026: PlayStation’s sale runs until 05:29 IST and Xbox’s until 15:29 IST, according to each store’s own data.

What the numbers mean: today, the cheapest legal way into Night City in India is the Xbox Standard Edition at ₹1,047. Because of Play Anywhere, that one purchase also covers Xbox on PC. PS5 owners pay ₹1,199, or nothing extra if they already have PS Plus Extra (catalogue games can leave the service). For the full package, Xbox Ultimate at ₹1,839.60 undercuts every other storefront until the sale ends. On PS5, buying the discounted Standard (₹1,199) plus the discounted Phantom Liberty (₹1,079) costs ₹2,278 — cheaper than the ₹4,304 Ultimate listing. On Steam, the ₹4,138 Ultimate bundle saves ₹360 over buying both items separately (₹4,498).

Platforms: what is supported and what is not

• PC (Steam, Windows; Mac also listed): fully supported and receives update 2.5. Steam lists the game as Steam Deck Verified.

• PS5 and PS5 Pro: fully supported, with update 2.5 and Phantom Liberty. Hardware notes: PS5.

• Xbox Series X|S: fully supported, with update 2.5, Phantom Liberty and now Play Anywhere. Hardware notes: Series X.

• Nintendo Switch 2: the Ultimate Edition is on Switch 2. CD PROJEKT RED says the Edgerunners 2 Update comes to Switch 2 later; no date has been announced. See Switch 2.

• PS4 and Xbox One: the base game is still listed, but those versions got their last patch on 8 November 2022. They cannot get update 2.5 or Phantom Liberty. If a PS4 or Xbox One disc is the only copy on offer, skip it unless you own a PS5 or Series X|S to play it on.

PC system requirements (Steam listing)

Steam lists Windows 10 64-bit and DirectX 12 for the minimum spec. Phantom Liberty needs roughly 35 GB more, so leave at least 110 GB free if you plan to buy it. An SSD is mandatory. On a budget Indian build with a GTX 1060-class card, expect to start at low presets.

How to install or update safely

1. Buy from an official store linked above. Grey-market “Steam keys” sold on social media are a common scam. If you have a code from a legitimate retailer, follow our code activation guide.

2. On PC, make sure the SSD has room. Move the library to another drive in Steam’s Storage settings if C: is full.

3. On console, follow the PS5 install guide or the Xbox Series install guide. Let the 2.5 patch finish before you launch.

4. If the game will not start after patching, work through Steam game won’t launch. Disable old manual mods first, because the new mod.io panel manages supported mods for you.

5. Reinstalling? Cloud saves normally survive, but confirm cloud sync is on before you delete anything.

Cheats: why there is no Cyberpunk 2077 cheat sheet

Cyberpunk 2077 has no official cheat codes on any platform. The commands that circulate online depend on third-party PC tools that CD PROJEKT RED does not support, and they can break after a patch like 2.5. Update 2.5’s official mods panel is the supported way to change your game, and it works on consoles too.

Should you buy it now? Our verdict

• New player on Xbox or PC: buy the Xbox Ultimate Edition at ₹1,839.60 before 5 November. Play Anywhere covers both devices.

• New player on PS5: check PS Plus Extra first. If you do not subscribe, the ₹1,199 Standard plus the ₹1,079 Phantom Liberty is the cheapest route to the full game.

• Steam-only player: there is no discount today. If you can wait, Steam sales come round regularly; if not, the ₹4,138 bundle is the best value on Steam.

• Owners returning for 2.5: the update is free. Download it, try the Edgerunners 2 gig before you watch the anime, then try dual-wield builds.
