Mega Crit has put a date on Slay the Spire 2's next big update. In its October Neowsletter, published on 29 October 2026, the studio says the next major beta patch is "currently planned to release on November 12th". It's the first firm date since Mega Crit warned in August that this update would take longer than usual.
No release time was given. Some outlets in Asia have reported 13 November, most likely because of time-zone differences, but Mega Crit's own date is 12 November.

What's in the update
Mega Crit is keeping the details quiet on purpose, saying the new content "will have more of an impact the less we say about it". What it has confirmed:
New game modes: co-founder Casey Yano says they work in both single-player and multiplayer.
Beta first: the new content is exclusive to the experimental beta branch at launch while the team fixes problems.
Main branch catch-up: the default branch gets all the content, balance changes and fixes from the current beta, version v0.111.0.
More to come: additional Acts are "certainly in the pipes", and Mega Crit wants to give co-op more long-term depth, but neither has a date.
All of these features were on the Early Access roadmap at launch. Mega Crit says the big systems needed design, UX, art, animation and balancing work that couldn't be rushed or built alongside regular balance patches.

How to get the beta
On Steam, beta branches are picked from the game's Properties menu under Betas. If you'd rather avoid bugs, stay on the default branch, which will still get the v0.111.0 content. Mega Crit asks players to send feedback through the in-game F2 tool, which it says gives the team the most useful data.
Price and platforms
Slay the Spire 2 has been in Early Access on Steam for PC, Mac and Linux since 5 March 2026. It costs $24.99 on Steam in the US, and Mega Crit hasn't announced a v1.0 date or console versions. In India, Steam lists it at ₹1,100.
Mega Crit will also be at WePlay 2026 in Shanghai on 21-22 November with a playable booth and a Q&A with Casey Yano.
