Delta Force's next season, Season Aurora, launches on Tuesday 10 November, developer Team Jade confirmed after a dev stream on Thursday 30 October that started at 8 am PDT (15:00 UTC). It arrives on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and mobile with a new Warfare map, a new Operator, a new rifle and a crossover with S-GAME's Phantom Blade Zero. Team Jade hasn't announced a launch time or patch size.

What's in Season Aurora

  • Zenith Port: a new Warfare map built with extended Unreal Engine 5 features. The official account says it uses real-time dynamic global illumination and Nanite rendering. Its Riptide event floods the lower objectives and pushes the fight up to higher ground.

  • Martelo: Veronica Cardozo, a new Assault Operator with an Ariete shield charge, a Smoke Halo and an HE grenade. Her Guerreira trait rewards keeping up momentum.

  • Brakkesh 2.0: the Operations map gets new routes, better cover and faction-based tasks.

  • Phantom Blade Zero crossover: the first two-handed melee weapon in Delta Force, plus cosmetics based on S-GAME's action RPG.

  • AN-94: a new assault rifle with a fast, accurate two-shot opening burst.

  • Also: Firing Range 2.0 with moving targets and stats, a limited-time AZ3 challenge with a shrinking radiation zone, and Christmas and New Year events later in the season.

Why it matters

Delta Force is free-to-play, so its seasons are how it keeps players and sells cosmetics. Aurora leans on two things. The first is a technical showcase: Team Jade says Zenith Port brings a "generational graphics leap" without disrupting play, which matters in a game that runs on phones as well as PCs and consoles. The second is timing. The Phantom Blade Zero crossover lands just after that game launched on PC and PS5, when interest is at its peak, and adds a melee weapon type the shooter hasn't had before.

What we can't tell yet is how the Unreal Engine 5 upgrade will affect performance on older PCs and phones. Team Jade hasn't published system requirement changes for Aurora.

Confirmed and not confirmed

  • Confirmed: 10 November launch, Zenith Port with Riptide, Martelo, Brakkesh 2.0, the AN-94 and the Phantom Blade Zero crossover.

  • Not confirmed: the launch time, download size, any change to PC requirements, and which crossover items are free and which are paid.
