Petit Planet Launches December 4 on PC, iOS and Android

Petit Planet, HoYoverse's first life simulation game, launches worldwide on Friday 4 December 2026 on PC, iOS and Android. Pre-download opens on 1 December. HoYoverse, the global brand of Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail maker miHoYo, announced the date on 30 October with a new release-date trailer. On PC it will be on the Epic Games Store and the official client download. HoYoverse hasn't announced a PlayStation, Xbox or Switch version.

The game is free to download. The US App Store listing shows a price of $0 and says the game contains loot boxes, and the Google Play listing flags in-app purchases. HoYoverse hasn't said what the paid items are or how much they cost, so the shop details are unconfirmed until launch.

Pre-launch stream today at 11:00 UTC

The date arrived two days before HoYoverse's Pre-Launch Special Program, which many fans expected to reveal it. The stream still goes ahead on Sunday 1 November at 19:00 UTC+8, which is 11:00 UTC and 6:00 am ET. US clocks go back an hour early that morning, so it's 6:00 am Eastern Standard Time. According to HoYoverse's Japanese press release, the development team and a guest will show what daily life on your planet looks like and share plans for upcoming events and campaigns. It streams on the official YouTube and X channels, with Twitch and TikTok also listed for the global stream.

How Petit Planet got here

HoYoverse announced Petit Planet in September 2025, and its first closed beta, the Coziness Test, opened on PC and iOS on 7 November 2025 for a limited group selected by survey. At gamescom in August 2026 the publisher gave the game a winter 2026 window and opened pre-registration on the App Store, Google Play and the Epic Games Store. The final beta test started on 20 September. A firm date has now replaced the winter window, and 4 December is close to the start of it.

What kind of game it is

You play a Planet Tender who looks after a small planet of your own. HoYoverse lists farming, fishing, catching bugs, beachcombing, cooking and crafting furniture, and you can reshape the land, coastline and sky. Animal-like Neighbors move in, and you build friendships with them through gifts, meals and walks. Away from home you sail the Starsea to small Islets for materials and rare creatures, or visit the Galactic Bazaar, a shared hub where you trade and play with other players.

The obvious comparison is Nintendo's Animal Crossing, but Petit Planet targets the same cozy audience on phones and PC rather than a console, with an online social hub and the kind of live-service updates HoYoverse's other games are built around.

Confirmed and not confirmed

Confirmed: the 4 December launch, pre-download from 1 December, PC (Epic Games Store and client), iOS and Android, free download, and the 1 November stream at 11:00 UTC. The US App Store listing adds a 3.7 GB download, iOS 15 or later, a 9+ age rating and 15 languages. Not confirmed: the launch hour, any console version, PC system requirements, prices for in-game items, and whether progress carries across PC and mobile.
