The Pokémon Company and Nintendo released Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Mega Dimension on Thursday 29 October 2026. It puts the Switch 2 Edition of the game and the paid Mega Dimension DLC on one game card, so you don't need to buy the expansion separately. Buyers also get a serial code for 100 Ultra Balls through Mystery Gift.

The launch comes with a set of timed events that every Legends: Z-A player can join, not just bundle buyers. The first started at 06:00 UTC on 29 October (2:00 AM ET, 11:30 AM IST).

Who should buy the bundle

The bundle has the same content as buying the Switch 2 Edition and Mega Dimension separately. The Pokémon Company says that if you already own the Switch 2 Edition, physical or digital, you only need to buy Mega Dimension. You must finish the main Legends: Z-A story before Mega Dimension's story unlocks. The card also works on the original Switch, but there it runs the Switch version, without the extra features that need Switch 2 hardware.

Neither company printed a US price in its announcements. US retailer listings reported by press outlets show $99.99, but we treat that as unconfirmed until Nintendo lists it.

  • Vivillon Challenge: players worldwide add points by evolving Spewpa. If the community reaches 660,000 points, everyone can get a rare Poké Ball Pattern Vivillon.

  • Battle Club Season 19: Ranked Battles are limited to the three starters (Chikorita, Tepig, Totodile), Wild Zone 1 Pokémon and their evolutions, plus Spewpa and Vivillon.

  • Pokémon Champions: move a Vivillon befriended in Legends: Z-A through Pokémon HOME to claim a Vivillon trainer icon, six Training Tickets and 666 VP.

A Pokémon Pokopia + Expansion Pass bundle for Switch 2 also came out the same day. It includes the available Part 1 and the upcoming Parts 2 and 3.

Background

Pokémon Legends: Z-A launched on 16 October 2025 on Switch and Switch 2. It's set in Lumiose City and was the first Pokémon game with real-time battles. Mega Dimension adds post-game story involving the Mythical Pokémon Hoopa, plus Holo-X and Holo-Y outfits. For help moving to the new hardware, see our guides on upgrading to Nintendo Switch 2 Editions and choosing a microSD Express card for Switch 2, and our Nintendo Switch 2 console page.

What is still unconfirmed

  • The official US price of the bundle. Retailer listings show $99.99, but Nintendo's announcement gave no price.

  • Details of Battle Club Season 20, which The Pokémon Company says it will share the day before that season begins.

  • Release dates for Pokopia Expansion Pass Parts 2 and 3.
