GTA 2 Cheats: PC, PlayStation, Dreamcast and GBC

GTA 2 has several cheat systems that are easy to mix together. PC uses an activation name before other codes, PlayStation and Dreamcast have their own name lists, and Game Boy Color uses progress passwords. The words are not universally interchangeable even when their intended effects sound identical.

This reference covers selected built-in entries and the handheld password system. It does not include external cheat-device memory addresses, modified executables or a claim that NextPlayIntel tested the original hardware. See the GTA 2 game profile for its developers and gang-based structure.

PC activation: GOURANGA comes first

Enter GOURANGA as the player name and accept it. Delete that name, then enter the desired PC code. Skipping this activation step is a common reason a valid PC word appears ineffective.

• Weapons and ammunition: GODOFGTA.

• No police: LOSEFEDS.

• $500,000: MUCHCASH.

• $10,000,000: IAMDAVEJ.

• 99 lives: CUTIE1.

• Maximum gang respect: MADEMAN.

• Keep weapons after death: ARSESTAR.

• Invulnerability effect: RSJABBER.

These entries and the activation sequence are documented by Grand Theft Wiki. A respect code changes a different system from a police code: gang hostility and law-enforcement pursuit should not be treated as the same mechanic.

GTA 2 PlayStation cheat names

Enter the relevant word as the player name. Do not add the PC activation step unless a version-specific reference requires it.

• Select levels: ITSALLUP.

• Weapons: NAVARONE.

• No police: LOSEFEDS.

• Maximum wanted level: DESIRES.

• Five-times multiplier: HIGHFIVE.

• Invulnerability effect: LIVELONG.

The difference between LOSEFEDS and DESIRES is especially important: one reduces pursuit while the other creates maximum pressure. A list arranged only alphabetically can hide that practical distinction.

GTA 2 Dreamcast cheat names

• Select levels: SESAME.

• Weapons: BIGGUNS.

• No police: LAWLESS.

• Maximum wanted level: BADBOYS.

• $500,000: MUCHCASH.

• $10,000,000: ULTIMATE.

• 99 lives: BIGCATS.

• Maximum gang respect: ALLFREND.

• Invulnerability effect: INFINITY.

The iGrandTheftAuto platform reference corroborates these names and notes limits to invulnerability: falling into water or being inside an exploding vehicle can still be fatal. Do not interpret the label as protection from every possible failure state.

Game Boy Color progress password

Use the Password option on the handheld game's menu. The documented string T8PZCV6JCH067KTF7SVS#T loads a later progress state described as level 3 with a Russian mission completed and weapons. The GTA.com.ua GBC reference preserves the full string.

A progress password is different from a toggle that changes the current session. Keep a record of the existing password before entering another one. Check similar-looking characters carefully, including the zero and the final hash symbol, rather than silently replacing them with letters.

Troubleshooting by symptom

If a PC code is ignored, check the GOURANGA step and confirmation first. If a PlayStation code is ignored, check that it came from the PlayStation section rather than the Dreamcast column. If a GBC password fails, revisit every character and the password menu rather than trying the name-entry method from the other platforms.

When a cheat takes effect but does not solve a mission, distinguish the effect from the objective. Money, equipment and respect can alter the conditions of play without completing the current task. A level-selection name also does not recreate the experience of completing earlier missions normally.
