The Duskbloods, FromSoftware's multiplayer action game made exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2, will no longer launch in 2026. The Elden Ring studio announced on 29 October 2026 that it has moved the release window to 2027, without giving a month or day.
In its English statement, FromSoftware said development is "at the final adjustment stage" and that it needs more time to fine-tune the game's rules and balance. It apologised to players who had been waiting. Nintendo's US store page already lists the game as 2027.

Why FromSoftware moved the date
The reason given is the network test FromSoftware ran in August 2026. According to the studio, players responded to the game's core ideas: direct combat, but also strategic depth and the freedom to win through different approaches and manoeuvres. FromSoftware says it wants to push those ideas "to an even higher level" before launch, which means a final period of adjustment to the game's rules and balance.
The Japanese notice on the official Duskbloods site says the same thing in more detail: the before-and-after line simply reads 2026 changed to 2027, and the stated aim is to realise the concept of a game you can enjoy "not only through direct combat but also through various manoeuvres and diverse strategies". Neither statement mentions new content, a story change or a platform change.

What The Duskbloods is
Revealed in April 2025 for a 2026 release, The Duskbloods is a competitive and cooperative online game for up to eight players. Nintendo's listing describes players as "Bloodsworn", supernatural beings given special abilities by blood, who form "transient alliances and bitter rivalries" while fighting enemies and each other for the right to First Blood. It is a Switch 2 exclusive, and online play is the focus. Nintendo has not listed a price.
The game is one of the biggest third-party exclusives announced for Switch 2, so the delay leaves a gap in the console's late-2026 line-up. It also keeps the game out of a crowded November, when Grand Theft Auto VI launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on 19 November. FromSoftware hasn't linked the decision to any other release, and there's no evidence it did.
Confirmed and unconfirmed
Confirmed: the new window is 2027, the game stays a Switch 2 exclusive, and the reason is final tuning of rules and balance after the August network test (FromSoftware).
Confirmed: online battles of up to eight players (Nintendo.com).
Unconfirmed: a release month or day, the price, and whether there will be another network test before launch. FromSoftware has not announced any of these.
For players in India and other regions, nothing changes beyond the date: the 2027 window applies worldwide, and no regional price has been published.
