Mafia Trilogy cheats: why there are no codes, and the legit unlocks

In brief: There are no cheat codes in Mafia: Definitive Edition, Mafia II: Definitive Edition or Mafia III: Definitive Edition on any platform: PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One or PC. Only the original 2002 Mafia on PC had typed codes, and they do nothing in the remake. What you can unlock legitimately are free 2K Account reward packs (a motorcycle, cars, outfits and a gold revolver), Free Ride content in Mafia DE, collectibles and achievement rewards. Checked 30 October 2026.

People search for "Mafia Trilogy cheats" expecting a list like the one for GTA San Andreas. The Mafia series does not work that way. This guide explains why, what the fan-run Mafia Wiki and 2K actually document, which "cheats" are really PC trainers with risks attached, and the legitimate unlocks worth your time. For the quick reference version, see the Mafia Trilogy cheats status page; for editions and prices, see the Mafia: Trilogy game page.

Cheat code status by game and platform

2K's own support pages and FAQ do not list any cheat system for the Definitive Editions either. Unlike Rockstar, 2K never built a cheat menu, button combinations or a phone-number system into these games. That makes the answer the same on every platform, including the new PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions released on 14 August 2026 (Mafia DE) and 8 October 2026 (Mafia III DE).

What about the old Mafia cheat codes?

The fan-run Mafia Wiki lists PC codes for the 2002 original only: for example krefjezivot (refill health), municak (infinite ammunition) and cornufse (all cars can be stolen). They belong to Illusion Softworks' old engine. Typing them into Mafia: Definitive Edition, which Hangar 13 rebuilt from scratch in 2020, does nothing on any platform. We list them here only so you can recognise them when an old video or forum post presents them as "Mafia DE cheats". NextPlayIntel has not tested these codes in the 2002 game.

Free 2K Account rewards: the closest thing to an unlock code

The most useful legitimate unlock is free. Create a 2K Account, link it to your PlayStation, Xbox or Steam account, then start each Definitive Edition while online and sign in when prompted. 2K says the items unlock instantly and stay on that platform even if you later play offline. You can reclaim them after deleting a save or reinstalling.

Each reward is limited to one per 2K Account and needs an internet connection. 2K also runs franchise loyalty rewards when you play several Mafia games on the same linked account.

Legit unlocks in Mafia: Definitive Edition

• Free Ride. Mafia DE has a Free Ride mode, separate from the story, for exploring Lost Heaven. Wikipedia notes that some side missions and collectibles appear only in this mode.

• Collectibles. The Mafia Wiki counts 80 pulp magazines (20 each of Dime Detective, Black Mask, Super Science Stories and Terror Tales), 10 Gangsters Monthly comics, 22 cigarette cards, 5 postcards (each leads to a hidden car) and 50 Mystery Foxes.

• Achievements tied to collectibles. There are 11, from Pulp Fiction (one pulp) to The Whole Story (every collectible).

• Difficulty settings. You can lower the difficulty in the options at any time if a chapter feels unfair. This is the legitimate equivalent of an easy-mode cheat.

Legit unlocks in Mafia II: Definitive Edition

Finding all 50 magazines unlocks the Ladies' Man achievement and every wanted poster unlocks Card Sharp. Progress appears under Extras → Collectibles in the main menu. Mafia II DE also includes all three story DLC packs: Joe's Adventures, Jimmy's Vendetta and The Betrayal of Jimmy.

Legit unlocks and one documented exploit in Mafia III: Definitive Edition

Wiretapping a district shows its collectibles on the map. The Mafia Wiki also documents one money exploit, not a cheat. During the drugs section of Evil That Men Do, the "Tail bagmen to find Gaston's stash" objective pays $10,000. The stash can respawn while the mission stays active, as long as you do not leave the French Ward. Exploits like this can be patched, and the wiki warns they may cause crashes or broken saves. Back up your save on PC first, and expect it may no longer work on the newer PS5 and Series X|S builds.

PC trainers and mods: what to know

Search results for "Mafia DE cheats PC" are mostly third-party trainers (programs that edit memory for infinite health or money) and mods. They are not made or supported by 2K. These games are single-player, so you are not breaking anyone else's game. Still:

• Download only from long-standing mod sites, and scan anything you run. Fake "cheat" executables are a common malware route.

• Trainers usually break after a game update. The 2026 updates changed the console builds, and PC patches can do the same.

• Trainers can corrupt saves or interfere with achievements. Keep a copy of your save folder before experimenting.

• Console versions cannot run trainers at all. Any site offering "PS5 Mafia cheat codes" or free money "generators" is a scam.

Prices if you are buying to play (checked 30 October 2026)

Euro prices and every other store row are on the game page.

For players in India

The 2K Account rewards work the same on Indian PSN, Xbox and Steam accounts. The cheapest legal way to get all three games this week is the Xbox Store India sale: ₹799.80 for the Trilogy, ending 5 November 2026 at 15:29 IST. On PlayStation Store India, Mafia II DE is Rs 399 until 05:29 IST on 5 November. Be careful with Indian YouTube and Telegram channels selling "unlock all" save files or accounts: they break PlayStation and Xbox terms and are a common way to lose an account.
