The new releases did well: PRAGMATA sold 2.73 million units in the period and Onimusha: Way of the Sword sold 1.78 million in its first month. Capcom's press release covers the six months ended 30 September 2026. That's the first half of the fiscal year ending 31 March 2027, which Capcom calls FY2026. Its results presentation adds unit sales by title and by platform. The headline numbers:

Capcom kept its full-year forecast unchanged: ¥210 billion in net sales, ¥83 billion in operating profit and ¥58 billion in profit attributable to owners, with a target of 65 million units for the year. The company says it is "on track" to hit those numbers. If it does, it would extend Capcom's long run of profit growth.

Resident Evil is doing most of the work. Seven of the top ten are Resident Evil games, and Capcom says catalogue sales grew partly because of "pricing initiatives", meaning discounts on older games. The series has now sold 218 million units in total, ahead of Monster Hunter at 132 million and Street Fighter at 60 million. Capcom also listed Metacritic scores for its recent games (all PS5 versions): PRAGMATA and Onimusha: Way of the Sword both score 85, Resident Evil Requiem 89 and Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection 86.

PC is now Capcom's biggest platform

The platform split stands out. Of the 36.86 million units, 21.03 million were digital PC sales (57.1%), against 13.02 million digital console sales (35.3%) and 2.81 million physical copies (7.6%). Digital made up 92.4% of all units. Sales outside Japan came to 32.95 million units, or 89.4% of the total.

What this means for players in India

India is mostly a PC and digital market, and Capcom is getting more of its sales from exactly those buyers. Capcom's games on Steam are priced in rupees in India. These are the Steam India prices we saw at about 12:30 a.m. IST on 28 October 2026 (prices and discounts change often, so check the store before you buy):

Game (Steam India)

The table also shows the "pricing initiatives" Capcom mentions: Resident Evil 4 is 75% off and was still Capcom's best-selling game in the period. If you've been waiting for a Capcom game to go on sale, older Resident Evil and Devil May Cry games are discounted often. Newer games like Onimusha usually stay at full price for longer.

How to get these games in India, step by step

  1. Pick your platform. PRAGMATA and Onimusha: Way of the Sword are on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. Resident Evil Requiem launched on 27 February 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC.

  2. Check the regional price. On PC, open the Steam page with your India account; prices are shown in ₹. On PS5 and Xbox, check the Indian PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store, because console prices can differ from Steam.

  3. Check the specs. Each Steam page lists minimum and recommended PC specs. Compare them with your GPU and RAM before you buy.

  4. Use refunds carefully. Steam usually allows refunds within 14 days of purchase if you've played for less than two hours. That's useful for checking performance on your PC.

  5. Wishlist for sales. Capcom's catalogue games are discounted often. Add them to your Steam wishlist and you'll get an email when the price drops.

Capcom also released Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen on 9 October 2026, and Switch 2 versions of Resident Evil 2, 3 and 4 on 16 October 2026. Both fall in the current quarter, so their sales aren't in these first-half figures.

Background

Capcom has grown quickly over the past decade. It publishes its games on as many platforms as possible, launches on PC alongside consoles, and keeps selling its back catalogue through regular discounts. This year it is also pushing its brands outside games, including the live-action Street Fighter movie that released worldwide on 16 October 2026, esports tournaments and merchandise. Not everything has gone smoothly: Capcom recently took Street Fighter V offline and off sale during PHP security maintenance. Its main games business, though, is in the best shape it has ever been.

What's not confirmed

  • Capcom didn't break down sales by country, so there's no official India sales number.

  • PRAGMATA and Onimusha unit figures are Capcom's total units, not platform-by-platform splits for each game.

  • Release dates for Mega Man: Dual Override, Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance and Resident Evil Veronica are only windows. Capcom says dates may vary by region and platform.

  • Steam sale prices shown above are temporary, and Capcom hasn't announced when they end.
